Alpco truck takes a flip

A mid-morning accident on the corner of Rt. 21 and Armington Rd. on the Wayne-Ontario County border resulted in the closing of Rt. 21 for several hours.

A tractor trailer full of trash and building materials owned by Alpco Recycling of Macedon, sheared off a utility pole and flipped over, dumping the contents all over the side of the road. According to sources, a car pulled in front of the Alpco truck causing the accident, and left the scene. There were no injuries.

State Police are investigating the mishap. Volunteer firemen from Manchester and Palmyra assisted at the scene.
