Ontario County Deputies Eric Woehr and Dan Fagner investigated an accident in which a young woman died Thursday night or Friday morning, near County Road 25 at Smith Road. A motorist saw a car in the Canandaigua Lake Outlet, just past the Smith Road intersection. The car was upside down in the water. Deputy Fagner arrived on scene at 7:49 a.m. Friday, and with help from a passer-by, Adam Eldridge, he went into the water and pulled the woman from the driver's seat. Nicole E. Warrick, 22, of 2688 Bunker Hill Road, Clifton Springs was identified at Clifton Springs Hospital ER, where she was pronounced dead. The cause of the accident is still being investigated. Clifton Springs Fire Dept. and Fire Police, and Phelps Fire and Ambulance volunteers helped at the accident scene. The Ontario County SCUBA Team along with Port Gibson Cold Water Divers searched the Outlet and assisted with removal of the car from the water. (John Zornow photo)
