Missing Sodus In the past, on these nice sunny days, we would have gone down to the Point and feed the ducks. Here at the pond, we have many families of geese. Three, as a matter of fact, and I do love to watch them. It is so neat the way the babies swim in a perfect row. I could never get my kids to even stay close let alone in a tidy little line. On our pond we have three families of goslings, each one tiny and cute in his or her own way. Did everyone enjoy Mother's Day? I got a surprise of a lemon cake and some pretty flowers. Next it's Memorial Day with parties and, before we know it, graduation parties. Plan your graduate's party weeks in advance so you don't leave anyone off the list or forget to order the cake. Fun from the Sodus Free Library: Author Coming To Sodus - We have been working in partnership with the Sodus Primary and Intermediate libraries to bring a noted children's author to the community on Thursday, May 24. Jerdine Nolen is the author of many wonderfully imaginative books, including Harvey Potter's Balloon Farm, Raising Dragons, Big Jabe, and Thunder Rose, a Coretta Scott King Honor book. Ms. Nolen will be speaking to students during the school day. An evening program for the entire community will be presented at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. The Friends of the Sodus Free Library are inviting everyone to enjoy an informal reception for the author following the evening program. At that time, there will also be an opportunity to purchase copies of Nolen's books at a 40% discount. There is no charge for the program or reception, and all are encouraged to attend. Also :

Sunday, May 20: Sampling Sodus Business and Trade Show sponsored by the Sodus Chamber of Commerce will be held during the Fly In Breakfast at the Sodus-Williamson Airport. May 17-20: Williamson Apple Blossom Festival. Arts & Crafts, entertainment, fireworks. May 19 - Parade at 3 p.m. and Fireworks on May 20. There are loads of fun things to do, all kinds of demonstrations, great food as well as the rides. Please wait to plant your annuals outside, when the weather goes below 40 you will need to cover them up with old blankets, newpapers or the ones you can bring inside. It takes me forever to drag everything out in the morning and haul it all back in at night, but it's well worth it. After all of that hard work, you don't want to forget something and have it looking all sad and wimpy the next morning. Have a great weekend. I think it may be going to rain, so keep an eye on the forecast so you are dressed properly. Enjoy your children and families. (Yes, even the older ones you spent two days to move back home for 3-4 months.) Have fun...... Copyright
