Early basement fire Newark Volunteer Firemen under the direction of Assistant Chief Dave Greco were called to 613 West Miller St. at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning to fight a basement fire. The home is owned and occupied by Lyle and Heather Wilson and family. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was candles left lit in the basement. There was some fire damage and smoke damage to the structure. The blaze was declared under control at about 6:15 a.m., but firefighters stayed on the scene to cleanup and clear smoke from the home until 8:00 a.m. Copyright
