Septic grants are offered by The Wayne County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) in cooperation with the Water Quality Coordinating Committee, WQCC is administering a grant program for the protection of local freshwater resources. Grants are now available to assist low to median income homeowners to repair failing on-site septic systems that are within 200 feet of a priority water body. 50% of the cost of repairs up to $1000 will be available (as a reimbursement) to those that are pre-approved by the WQCC. Verification of income status is required and all information is confidential. A letter from your Code Enforcement Officer is required. The grants will be awarded on a reimbursement basis only and are subject to review and pre-approval by the SWCD & WQCC. Applications are available at the Wayne County Soil & Water Conservation District Office. The Soil & Water Conservation District offers sixteen programs and services to the public and municipalities. Programs are related to enhancing and managing Wayne County's natural resources.
