Firefighters have training exercise
Under the direction of the East Palmyra Volunteer Fire Dept., firefighters from Newark, Palmyra, Walworth, Marbletown and East Palmyra took advantage of a live fire training exercise October 28, through the courtesy of the Cleason Family, who donated a house to be burned. According to Capt. Kevin Velte of the Newark Dept., several new members were in attendance and the entire training was well attended by all of the involved departments. Newark and Walworth used their aerial apparatus to perform roof operations (ventilation), and all companies performed interior operations.
