Medicare info classes begin Nov. 13 Wayne County Dept. of Aging and Youth has added hour-long Medicare 101 classes to its health insurance counseling services. Classes are free, but registration is required; phone 946.5624. Location is the Health Services Building at 1519 Nye Road, outside of Lyons. Medicare is available to most people at age 65, but may be available earlier than that to individuals who have disabilities. If you're new to Medicare or will be joining in the next few months, sign up for a class and learn more about the Medicare enrollment timeline, an overview of coverage options, Medicare Advantage plans, supplemental insurance policies, Medicare savings programs, and Medicare Part D - the new part of Medicare that helps to cover prescription drug costs. Classes are Tuesday, November 13 at 10:30 a.m.; Wednesday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m.; Thursday, January 17 at 10:30 a.m.; Wednesday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
