The Marion Seniors met recently for a delicious lunch at the Log Cabin Restaurant. Kathy Wegman, School Superintendent, was a guest at the lunch.

Seniors are planning to meet Nov. 27 at the Second Reformed Church. A potluck dinner will be followed by a business meeting. All seniors are invited. For info, call Ann Marion at 926. 4494.

The Election Inspectors thank Jody Bender for the donuts she provided for coffee breaks at the Town Library on Election Day. Thanks also to Gary R. Smith for pizza and soda pop he provided for lunch. The food contributions were enjoyed by everyone.

  • November 19-20, is our Student Council Food Drive
  • November 21, 22 & 23 will be Thanksgiving recess, all schools closed.

Only male turkeys produce the familiar gobble, often as a mating call; females generally respond with yelping, purring, and soft clucking sounds.

You might like to try this easy pie for Thanksgiving dinner.

Pumpkin Whip

1 pkg. (3.4 oz.) instant butterscotch pudding mix
1 1/2 cups cold skim milk
1 cup canned or cooked pumpkin
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 cups light whipped topping

Beat pudding and milk until well blended. Blend in pumpkin pie spice. Fold in whipped topping. Can use 9' shortbread crust or individual pudding cups. Chill.

November 1953 -

Transfer of deeds of Caldwell Place, the 130 acre farm on the Newark Rd. from John S. Rich to his son, Harry E. Rich, this week, the third time in 158 years the farm has been sold. Harry is the 7th generation to live on the land.

Pocket your prayer. String ten beads, ten paper clips or ten of anything that will fit into your pocket. Pull it out when you have a moment and say ten quick prayers. The weight in your pocket will be a good reminder, too.

Shirley A. Adriaansen and Gary Smith traveled to Bandera, Texas on a recent vacation. Bandera is a typical cowboy town close to the trails in the Texas Hill Country with various tourist attractions. While in Bandera, Shirley Adriaansen's sister Arlene Aldrich and husband Larry Aldrich traveled from Harker Heights, Texas for a brief vacation enjoying the area also. Shirley and Gary also enjoyed visiting more family and friends that live in Bandera and San Antonio.

Nov. 16, 1944

The 510 German prisoners of war in the three Wayne County work camps will probably stay through the winter. At present there are 215 in the Newark camp, 110 at Sodus Point and 185 in Clyde.
