Alton church auction Saturday afternoon

The Alton United Methodist Church invites you to its Christmas auction being held on Dec. 1 at 1:30; there will be a preview of the auction at 1 p.m.

The members of the church make quilts, which are handmade, candies, Christmas items, and baked goods. These items are auctioned off. All the funds raised go toward helping support the church and the church's community projects throughout the year.

There will be refreshments served that the auction and everyone is welcome. The event will take place at the church in basement reception area of the church. The address is 8575 Old Ridge Road, Alton, at the Cobblestone Church.

The auction is a great way to get to know the people in the community and help out a good cause. The Rev. Gene DeWispelaere and the congregation look forward to seeing you there. The church also offers a coffee hour every second Sunday of the month after the service.

A quilting group gathers Mondays at 10 a.m. Also on Mondays is a Bible study group at 2 p.m.
