Holiday events abound in Newark

A week of varied holiday events starts November 30, and will consist of museum open houses, craft sales, decorating contests, as well a Church bazaars, and shopping events.

The Newark Chamber of Commerce will hold an Open House from 5-7 p.m., today at Chamber Headquarters, located at T. Spencer Knight Park on the Erie Canal. There will be refreshments and door prizes.

Santa will arrive by fire truck at Newark's Central Park at 6:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. The Newark High School band and choral groups will offer Christmas music starting at 6 p.m. Santa will light the Village Christmas Tree at 6:30 and head directly to the Alex Eligh Community Center to meet and greet the children. AECC volunteers will offer Face Painting, The Balloon Man (Mr. Wally Crum), pizza, cookies and hot chocolate.

Again this year, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will present their Holiday Christmas Concert on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Newark High School Auditorium. A pasta dinner is planned in the school cafeteria from 5 to 7. Get your tickets at the Chamber Officer or at Wegmans Service Desk.
