Naturalist Badge Day at Montezuma

Montezuma Audubon Center Boy Scout Naturalist Badge Day will be Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10:30 to 1 and 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Discover the Montezuma Audubon Centers unique wetland habitats while meeting naturalist badge requirements for Cubs and Boy Scouts.

The two-hour program features activities, games and a hike that focus on identifying birds, using binoculars, learning about migration and bird flyways, showing respect for wildlife and ways that people can enhance habitats to help birds and other wildlife.

Scouts will be introduced to our nature center and meet our resident reptiles and amphibians. Each scout will receive age appropriate handouts and make a bird feeder from items that you might toss away as garbage or send to a recycling center.

Scouts are welcomed to bring and eat 'trashless' lunches at the Center. Register by calling 315.365.3588 or e-mailing:

cstokes-cawley@audubon.org

There is a $5 fee per scout. Montezuma Audubon Center is a State-owned facility operated through a cooperative agreement between the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation and the National Audubon Society and is located two miles north of Savannah on Route 89.
