Newark church will burn mortgage Sunday The members of Newark Baptist Fellowship Church are planning a Homecoming and Mortgage Burning Celebration on October 14. Built in 1986 at 401 Stuart Avenue on the northwest side of Newark, the 'church on the hill' continues to minister to those seeking a church family of ordinary people endeavoring to serve an extra-ordinary God. Beginning with Sunday School/Bible Study at 9:45 a.m., the day's activities continue with worship at 11, led by Pastor John DePugh. Special music will be provided by NBFC's own Praise Band. Around 1 p.m., a fellowship dinner will be served in the fellowship hall. Participants will then move back into the auditorium for a special Mortgage Burning Celebration. The guest speaker will be Rev. Ed Hart, Director of Missions for the Central NY Baptist Association. Other Southern Baptist dignitaries from around New York State will be in attendance. Newark Baptist fellowship Church extends a special invitation to friends and family, and especially to former members, as well as the public. Any questions concerning the church or the day of celebration should be directed to Rev. DePugh at 331.9633.
