Program starts on Oct. 18 at Red Cross

Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will be collaborating with Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth for workshops for family caregivers.

A caregiver is anyone who provides assistance to another person who is either ill, disabled, or needs some help with everyday tasks. The workshops will focus on Home Safety, Caregiving Skills, Assisting with Personal Care, Healthy Eating, Caring for the Caregiver, Legal and Financial Issues.

The programs will be held Thursday mornings beginning October 18; each session will be one hour long and begins at 10:30 a.m. The legal and financial issues workshop will be two hours long with a light lunch served.

The programs will be held at American Red Cross Chapter headquarters, 400 S. Main St. in Newark. The program is free to the public through support provided by the Wayne County Office of Aging and Youth.
