Party in the Park in Marion

This Friday (September 7), the Town Park in Marion (North Main Street) will be rocking with five veterans of the Rochester club scene - Guy Smiley. To focus on our families and a night of fun, the committee is delighted to bring Guy Smiley to Party in the Park.

The band performs music that will delight all members of the family, playing the music of Green Day, 3rd Eye Blind, the Bare Naked Ladies, and others to rock our younger generations, adding selections of the Beatles, Guns and Roses, Wild Cherry, and the Doobie Brothers.

The Marion American Legion Baseball team will be hosting a Chicken Bar-B-Q beginning at 4 in the Town Park, serving until gone. The gates to the music party will open at 6 p.m. and the band is scheduled from 7-11 p.m. All persons under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by their parent or a responsible adult.

Entertainment will go on rain or shine. Admission to Party in the Park is $2 per person for ages five and above. During the show, additional food and beverages will be available through the Marion Soccer Club. To ensure the security of all of our guests NO alcoholic beverages, NO pets, NO skateboards, rollerblades, or bicycles are allowed in the park for the evening. All food and beverages must be purchased on the park grounds.

In addition, the committee is pleased to welcome Lower than Johnny and the East Coast Players during the Festival celebration on Saturday, adding Country, Classic, and Pop Rock to our musical agenda.

Participant registration for the Marion Mile, and the 3 on 3 Basketball tournament begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Activities including craft booths, food vendors, kids entertainment, and much more at 9 a.m. on Main Street and will end at 5.
