Poker Run planned will support troops

The Williamson American Legion Riders are holding a Poker Run starting at the Williamson Legion Post #394 on September 15 and the public is welcome to attend.

The ride is a benefit for NY Army National Guard B Company 427th BSB, which is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan.

Funds raised will go toward providing the troops with some comforts and necessities from home while they are overseas.

The Sons of the American Legion will be offering breakfast from 7 to 11 for $7; registration for the ride will be from 9 until 11 a.m. The cost is $15/driver, $10/rider or $10 at the gate. The ride departs at 11 a.m. from Post #394 and will include stops in Newark, Marion, Ontario, Sodus Point, Hannibal, and ends with a party at Wolcott Legion Post 881, featuring live music by Country Pleasure from 4-7 p.m.

There will be food, and loads of raffles and door prizes, and an auction featuring hundreds of items and services. Best of all, you'll get to meet some of the members of B Company 427th BSB and their families.
