Did everyone enjoy their last official weekend of summer, though it still feels nice out so I will continue enjoying until it snows on my head or it gets too cold to wear my capris.

I find when you move, it doesn't matter how organized you may be, write everything down so as to not forget a single thing. But no matter what, something happens to change everything you had thought you had figured out. I thought I had the move date all figured out - everything in place. Nope, the school wanted my daughter to start earlier. Thought I was keeping my same phone number. Nope. Wrong again. I was told I can't. Time Warner now costs $30 more. (I should have appreciated what I was paying before but, who knew?) And it goes on and on. Maybe it's less stressful to be less organized - just do it.

On the positive side, things are going well with the move. We have done some painting and moved some things in and soon we can play in Wayne County like we used to. A new life and it's all exciting!

Did you know the Wallington Bog and Grog is this weekend? Sunday, September 9, Noon - 5.

Saturday, September the 8, The Apple Shed in Fairville will once again have their Head, Heart, Hands and Health 5K run with a 7 a.m. registration. Runners will be running cross country 3.1 miles across the orchards and woods to benefit the 4-H. The race starts at 8:30 they hope to see you there.

Mark your calendars: You will be able to hear the sounds of music. Sunday, September 16 the Cracker Box Palace in Alton will be having a fun and entertaining afternoon of music. From noon 'til 7 you will be able to hear many forms of music - they will be 'jamming ' the whole afternoon. Everyone will be able to find some type of music that is their favorite - from reggae, blues, rock, jazz and lots more. Sounds like a fun way to spend the day. In fact, we will be in the new place. Maybe we'll come along and enjoy it with you.

We were out and about in Sodus Point the other day (since we are at the new place at least twice a week). We decided to go to the Point to see the water. It was almost like playing the game where something is missing. It took a while but we did figure it out - the little building that served hot dogs is gone and there is a new bath house. Looks very nice.

sunset Now that the kids are off to school it is more difficult to find the time to spend with them. They have their friends, homework and favorite fall shows, but try to have a couple of hours during the weekend for just you and them. An hour of stories or reading on a Saturday afternoon, maybe movie night Saturday night and game day for a couple of hours on a Sunday.

Don't forget kids love to help with baking. Try to take the time for a nice weekend breakfast before they go running around outside or it's time to do fall events. A nice snack waiting for them when they get home? (I'm sure is appreciated even if they don't realize it ..yet.) While they are munching and relaxing before doing homework, you can take the time to talk about the day and what things happened while they were at school.

Have fun and enjoy each other's company.
