Newark needs citizen input

The Village of Newark will hold a meeting on Saturday, September 15, at 10 a.m. in Room # 210 of the Municipal Building, 100 East Miller Street, Newark. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and receive input from the public concerning the overlay district being considered for a portion of Routes 31 and 88 in the downtown area.

You are welcome to be present and express your views at these meetings. Coffee and pastries will be provided for participants of the meeting.

The purpose of this meeting is to build consensus and create an atmosphere of resident ownership of the project, receive citizen and landowner concerns, and provide an opportunity for residents to give input into what they consider the important issues and possible benefits relating to the proposed Overlay District.

Once again, we would like to inform citizens and residents that this project has nothing to do with changing existing zoning for the area under consideration. The purpose of the proposed district is to manage and control development in the district.

Citizens who are not able to be present at this meeting will be able to participate in an online survey by going to the Village website at

www.villageofnewark.com

and clicking on the appropriate web link.

If you have any questions regarding this meeting, please contact either Mark Peake, Code Enforcement officer, or Steve Murawski, Treasurer at 315.331.4770.
