Dinner & movie to benefit Democrats

For the fifth year, the Democratic town committees from Lyons and Newark will be joining forces to present Dinner and Movie on Sunday, Sept 23 at the Showplace 6 theater in Newark. Ticket holders will enjoy a delicious buffet of food beginning at 5 p.m., choosing offerings from main dishes to desserts. Then they have to make another difficult decision - which of 5 different movies to attend.

It's gotten to be a popular annual event by offering the combination of delicious food, fun, good company, entertainment and the opportunity to speak with local candidates. In addition to featured town races, special guests this year are expected to be Dan Maffei, running for the the 25th US Congressional seat and Paloma Capanna, candidate for the NYS 54th Senatorial District. Paloma will have just finished her 'Walk-and-Talk' across the district. Early Monday Sept 17 she will be in Newark on her way to Lyons, and is sure to have stories of her adventures.
