Hosts at Jennie's House included: Ann Bliss, Sue Devlin, Eleanor Schoonerman, Meredith Sorensen, Priscilla Flack, Gordon Adriaansen, Jill Adriaansen's boys, Carol Ramsey and Barbara DeWandel. We had lots of visitors from as far away as Rochester and Auburn who wanted to join in the festivities of their 'home town.' I want to mention Paul Devlin and Brian Adriaansen, who put up the wainscot in the kitchen, after work hours and there were many compliments on the front porch where the breeze from the lake was perfect. SEPTEMBER 6, 1939 - Howard Boise, a member of the Marion Future Farmer Chapter gained recognition as an apple judge when he placed 4th in the New York State Fair Contest. Over 200 youths, representing as many schools took part in the apple identification and judging contest. Howard will receive a white ribbon and a sizable cash award. In a local elimination contest held previous to the State Fair Howard received a perfect score to earn his right to represent Marion at Syracuse. The Marion American Legion is serving their first ROAST BEEF supper of the season today, September 14 CRAYOLA - Inspiring scribblers since 1903, these classic crayons come in 120 colors, ranging from Burnt Sienna to Robin's Egg Blue. Nearly three billion crayons are produced annually, enough to circle the globe six times. SEPTEMBER 18, 1952 - Big hamburgers still 20 cents at Pee Wee Lunch.
