ARC partners with Crackerbox Palace

The Cracker Box Palace, a registered farm animal haven, located on Alasa Farms in Alton, and Wayne ARC, a not for profit serving over 1800 individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Wayne County, are working towards a collaboration. This arrangement would provide opportunities for 6-10 individuals to spend 5 hours a day at the Cracker Box Palace supporting the farm animal rescue facility in a variety of ways. Individuals would be offered responsibilities to the farm based on abilities and interest.

The fully supervised day habilitation program would offer exposure in the areas of animal grooming, feeding, shelter cleaning, tour guides, gift shop attendant, apple picking and light maintenance work. Cracker Box Palace is currently home to over 200 surrendered, abused, abandoned or neglected farm animals from Wayne and surrounding counties. The ultimate goal of the palace is to restore and rehabilitate these animals in hopes of eventual adoption.

The opportunity for individuals to participate in this labor of love is priceless. Anyone interested in participating in or referring someone for this unique opportunity should contact Molly Fox at 331.7741. For more information on Cracker Box Palace please visit
