Art Show at Wayne Arts in April

Wayne Arts (Newark) will host a Middle School Student Art Show, April 10 through May 1. The opening reception is Sunday, April 13, from 2 to 4 p.m.

While you are at Wayne Arts, check out the gift shop. In March, we feature beaded jewelry by local artist, Stephanie Donaldson.

She made beaded jewelry for friends and family members through the 1980s and 1990s, but didn't get serious about beading until 1998, when she taught myself peyote seed beading. She says she is 'obsessed with tiny glass beads' and has taken many classes in a variety of techniques.

She is proficient in bead design, off-loom seed beading and bead crochet and has delved into bead embroidery.

Wayne Arts is located at 108 West Miller St. Gallery and gift shop hours: Thursday and Friday, 1 to 4 and Saturday, 10 to 4. Call 331.4593 for more information.
