Hanagan writes, directs 'Willie's Kitchen'

'Willie's Kitchen' by Jay D. Hanagan will be staged at Gates Hall, Pultneyville, April 11, 12 and 13.

Willie is a writer. Well, he wants to be a writer. Well, he is a writer, but what he really wants, is to be a novelist. Well, he is a novelist, but no one knows it. No one knows it because he never finishes a novel. Well, he kind of finishes them, but he never sends them out to be published.

Frank lives next door to Willie, was Willie's teacher, mentor and biggest fan.

With each crisis, Frank and Willie try their very best to be there for each other. But their very best tends to fall a little short at times.

This is a story of best friends. And acceptance. And annoyance. A lot of annoyance. And not knowing what to do next.

'Willie's Kitchen' has had three readings in New York City, including Shotgun Productions and was the winner of the Backdoor Theatre Company New Play Project contest in Wichita Falls, TX. It was also presented as a reading at Geva in Rochester and presented at the JAMM Theatre at Ohio State University.

Jay D. Hanagan is an internationally produced, award-winning playwright.

All performances at Gates Hall, Pultneyville, April 11 and 12 at 8 p.m. and April 13 at 3.
