Sheriff appoints two Road Patrol Deputies

Wayne County Sheriff Richard J. Pisciotti has announced the appointment of Gabe DeSanto (left) and Scott Knapp as deputies with the Road Patrol Division of the Sheriffs Office.

DeSanto, 24, of Savannah was previously employed as a patrolman with the Clyde Village Police Department.

He is a graduate of Clyde-Savannah High School and Cayuga Community College, with a degree in Criminal Justice.

DeSanto graduated from the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy and is completing a minimum 12-week field training program at the Sheriff's Office.

Knapp, 39, of North Rose, has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since 2001 as a Corrections Officer.

He is a graduate of North Rose-Wolcott High School and attended Finger Lakes Community College. He spent five years in the Navy.

He is in the final phase of academy training at the Onondaga County Police Academy. After graduation from the academy, Knapp will be assigned to the field training program.
