Lyons man jailed for
marijuana posses
sion and sales

Adam VanBuskirkIn the early morning hours of April 10, members of Wayne Narcotics Enforcement Team's warrant entry team, acting on a search warrant issued by Lyons Justice Forgione, executed the warrant at 41 Shuler Street, residence of Adam VanBuskirk, 32.

VanBuskirk was arrested and charged with criminal possession of marijuana, a class E felony, and criminal sale of marijuana, a class D felony. He was arraigned by Judge Forgione and committed to jail in lieu of $20,000 cash, $40,000 bond.

In March 2007, Wayne NET busted VanBuskirk for maintaining a 'stash house' in Alloway, where officers recovered a quantity of marijuana and guns. The defendant is already on probation for that incident.

Wayne NET Commander, Newark Police Chief Dick Bogan, said, 'Maybe this time, between the new felony charges and a violation of probation, we can shut down VanBuskirk's candy store approach to marijuana trafficking. Our investigation has shown he supplies street level dealers in several of the member Villages of Wayne NET.'

The Chief added, 'People engaged in illegal drug trafficking in the member Villages and Town of Wayne County should expect to be under the scrutiny of Wayne NET investigators. We were fortunate to receive a second year of New York State Impact Grant funding and will put it to good use. Our team will be active and visible in all communities this spring and summer. We're looking at resumed activity by persons we have arrested in the past and also some new players.'

Wayne NET has the full cooperation of Probation and Parole Departments. Citizens are asked to contact police or visit www.waynenet.info to share information and suspicions.
