Marion teen going Jeremiah Van Dorp, a member of East Palmyra Christian Reformed Church, will be traveling this summer to the African country of Zambia. He is going with the organization Teen Missions International, which has run summer mission trips for over 30 years. He'll leave for Merritt Island, FL on June 15, where he will go through two weeks of boot camp with the rest of the teenagers traveling this summer. Boot camp prepares the teens for the harsh conditions of the mission field. After completing boot camp it is off to Zambia. This will be home for Jeremiah and his team until August 10. While in Zambia, Jeremiah and his fellow team members will be washing aids orphans feet and giving them their first pair of shoes. They will also get the opportunity to play games with the kids and evangelize to the communities. After their time in Zambia, the team will travel to Ethiopia for five days and debrief about their experiences with a few of the other teams from Teen Missions. During this time they also will prepare for home life again. This will be the second time on the mission field for the 2007 Marion High School graduate and East Palmyra Christian School alum. Last summer, Jeremiah took part on another Teen Mission's team to Egypt. During that time he worked pouring sidewalks and interacting and evangelizing with the many children at the Lillian Trasher Orphanage in Asyut, Egypt.
