Recycle laptops, scanners,
radios, electronics Sunday

The Green Team of Park Presbyterian Church in Newark is planning an 'E-Waste & More Recycling Event' on April 20, from noon to 4 at the church's East Avenue parking lot.

The phone number at Park Presbyterian Church is 331.2255.

The Green Team wants to stop electronics from entering the waste stream, by providing an easy way to recycle computers and computer accessories, office support equipment such as scanners and copiers, game stations, VCR/DVD players, stereo and radio equipment, land line telephones, calculators, electronic test equipment and all other electronics containing printed circuit boards.

No appointment is required. There is a $5 fee for turning in TVs and computer monitors, half of which goes to the Green Team church projects.

Also accepted are gas grill propane tanks (limit 20 lbs.) and used sneakers (pair tied together with laces), which will be recycled through the Rotary Club.

Bring your cell phones, ink cartridges, alkaline batteries and returnable cans and bottles. The cans and bottles will support Newark High School's Operation Graduation.

Household appliances, power tools, audio speakers, light bulbs, ballast starters, fixtures or circuit breaker panels and automobile batteries will not be accepted. Cleaners, solvents, and paints will not be accepted.

Maven Technologies of Rochester provides the trucks and the staff to help unload equipment from vehicles, in addition to hauling away the electronic items.

See www.maventech.com or call 585.458.2460.
