Retired teachers honor The Central Western Zone of the NYS Retired Teachers Association has honored Jeff Hamelinck, a Newark kindergarten teacher. A grant was awarded to Hamelinck, who is studying through SUNY Oswego to earn his Administrative Certification. The award was presented by Ellen Barnes, president of the Wayne Co. Unit. It carries the name of the late Barrie Fleegel, a retired educator from Marion, who was active with the retired teachers at the county, zone and state level. Copyright
