Fallen soldier's mother asks you
to walk or ru
n on Aug. 24
By Sandra Marcano

Jonathan Lootens flag On July 31, the mother of Jonathan Lootens, a Newark native and fallen soldier, drove 1300 miles to Royalton, Illinois.

Debi Qualtieri went there to see Jon's flag being planted by young people who are running across the United States to honor all fallen soldiers.

Lootens was killed in Iraq in October 2006.

Qualtieri asks you to visit runforthefallen.org - and she hopes many of you will 'go out on August 24 to run or walk one mile, for all the fallen heroes.'

Since June 14, a team of runners has been covering America from Fort Irwin, California to Arlington National Cemetery, one mile for every Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Marine killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).
