ViaHealth of Wayne Foundation Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, August 18 at Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club in Sodus Point.

Members of the community are invited to support this scramble format tournament that will benefit the programs and services of Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and DeMay Living Center. For the best tee-off times, early registration is highly recommended.

The Foundation is sponsoring a special advance drawing for several great prizes including: a WII, a Toshiba flat screen TV, a DVD player and a Webber grill. The TV, DVD player and grill were donated by Ruffalos Appliance in Newark. Another means of supporting the tournament includes Gold, Silver and Bronze levels of sponsorship, as well as Hole and Cart sponsorships.

Registration and lunch start at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start is scheduled for noon. Other events are a social hour at 5 p.m. and a pig roast dinner at 6 p.m. Raffle prizes and awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and the longest drive will be given out during the dinner. Non-golfing members of the community are invited to come for only the dinner if they wish to support the tournament.

Concord Ford Lincoln Mercury of Newark is sponsoring its Hole-in-One contest for a 2008 Ford Taurus.
