'Royalty' opens Wayne County Fair

The 153rd Wayne County Fair opened yesterday, with grace and elegance. The fairgrounds are in Palmyra.

Queens and princesses representing the fair, Dairy Association, Canaltown Days, the Maple Syrup Festival and Apple Blossom Festival were on hand to kick-off festivities that include rides, food, animals, music, demolition derbies and a chilling Figure 8 race.

The fair, 'Simply Home Grown' for 153 years, has a full schedule through Saturday evening.
