Bikers raised money for Red Cross disaster fund Seventy bikers supported the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross by participating in the Ride for the Red Dice Run to raise funds for disaster relief. The event raised over $3500 for the disaster relief program. Relief funds are low following several apartment complex fires this spring and summer. In the last 18 months, the Chapter has responded to six large incidents including the Iroquois Hotel Fire in Lyons, the 1812 Hotel Fire in Sodus, the Macedon Manor fire in Macedon, the Newark High Rise fire, and the Marion Apartment Complex fire which displaced 23 people. James Love said the Wayne County Chapter has helped more than 250 disaster victims in the last year with emergency food, clothing, shelter, medications, and mental-health counseling. The dice run kicked off at the Wireless World in Newark and ended at the Palmyra Moose Lodge. The 2008 sponsor, Wireless World, presented a check for $1000 in support of the event. Copyright
