DAR names American History Award recipients

The Col. Wm. Prescott Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution announced the Class of 2008 high school recipients of the DAR American History Award.

The students are:

• Clyde-Savannah - Gerard Hamblet
• Gananda - Collin Stowell
• Lyons - Lucas Quagliata
• Marion - Jacob Krocke
• Newark - Allison Burnham
• North Rose-Wolcott - Susan Snyder
• Palmyra-Macedon - Alana Koehler
• Red Creek - David Flickinger
• Sodus - Peter Lucieer
• Wayne - Elizabeth Christine DeWitte
• Williamson - Christyne Chmil

'Each of the 11 public schools is invited to participate,' said Jane DeCracker, CWP Chapters American History Award Chair. Honorees are evaluated on their total academic performance, character and patriotism.

Check with the school Guidance Office for information on other DAR awards and scholarships.
