Happenings
By Carolyn Adriaansen

Bill and Helga DeVries are visiting friends and family members in the area from their home in Florida. On Sunday, the 17th, Bill presented a rendition of 'Yes, Jesus, Loves Me' as the ministry of music at the Second Reformed Church.

Cousins met this month at Taranwould's and enjoyed a delicious salad plate and muffin, followed by coffee and Cherry Streusel at Jeannette's.

Remember - the Marion Food Pantry, behind the Second Reformed Church on Mill Street, Marion. Open on Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 9 to 10 a.m.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Carol Kearns has a new great-grandson, Parker James, born on August 4, 2008, weighing 8 lbs., 1 oz. and 20 1/2' long. Parents are James & Meghan DePaty. Grandparents are Ron & Dawn Hall of Rochester.

Friday, August 27, 1920 - 'That Rest Room' I am wondering if the women of Marion, and especially the women whose homes are in the country, are getting as much pleasure and real comfort out of the rest room as I am, and I cannot refrain from telling you how much I appreciate it. I wish I might tell all the women who have not taken advantage of the rest room, or perhaps some who do not know about it, how welcome you make one feel, and how restful it is when one is tired, or waiting for someone. I certainly can vouch for its usefulness.

Mrs. Spencer E. Jeffery
