Newark man dies in crash on Vienna Road

Jimmy Phamisith, 19, of Clifton Springs is facing charges in a car accident that happened today, around 1:40 a.m., between Newark and Phelps.

This photo was taken by Ken Boyd, Marbletown Fire Chief. The car went off Vienna Road, flipped and crashed in the woods. According to police, the back-seat passenger, Ricardo 'Ricky' Lugo, 23, of West Miller St., Newark, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

Phamisith is charged with DWAI, driving while ability impaired by drugs. The crash happened on Vienna Road in Arcadia, north of the intersection of Sweed Road. Front-seat passenger, Kurt Hine, 27, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The accident is still under investigation.
