Sodus Church Outreach Team makes plans

The first of two Farm Markets to be hosted by the Sodus United Methodist Church was held August 9, in conjunction with the 'Festival of Fun.'

With six farmers participating, there was a great variety of fresh, home-grown fruit, vegetables and flowers. The event was well attended and many consumers asked when is the next farmers market?

On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Methodists will host the second Farmers Market as part of the Chamber of Commerce Harvest Festival.

This event will run from 9 to 4 on the Firemen's Field on Mill Street. To encourage farmers to participate SUTMC will pay the vendor fee.

Farmers may reserve a spot by calling Nancy Ransley (483.9307) or Sandy Hall (483.8029).

The Outreach Team at the Methodist Church is planning to hold a WIC-approved Farm Market in 2009, on the parking lot and lawn of the Methodist Church on Main Street.
