The Hen House Country Store, 6165 Richardson Rd., Williamson, final sale days are September 4, 5 & 6, 10 to 5, with 35 percent off everything. New holiday hangings for black painted arrows.

September 3 the kids go back to school.

A pancake breakfast is being planned at the Fire Hall, Sept. 14 from 8 to noon.

August 19, 1926: Marion will celebrate Old Home Day, Saturday, September 4, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the town under the name of Marion. Officers for the celebration are Dr. Arthur Besemer- president, Principal R. V. Shaver- secretary and Leslie Shoales- treasurer.

The 86th Ford family reunion was held at the Macedon Gravino Park. A bit on the cool side after temperatures in the high 80s. Fifty-one family members were present. Cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, dads and moms were joined together for family time, grilled meat and lots of good food. There were potato, macaroni, tossed and bean salads; beans, Jell-O, and of course, cake for the birthday folks.

The White Pigeon

Howard and Loretta Bartlett had a visitor, who seemed to be looking for a new home. Each day this beautiful white pigeon returned. The Bartletts noticed the band on its leg and after trapping it in the garage, made many phone calls, following up on the band information. They ended the adventure by sending their pigeon friend to its home in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Marion Library will be celebrating their 100-year anniversary on Sept. 27, noon until 2. There will be a book sale, entertainment by Orbit Underground, history handouts and refreshments.

August 31, 1944: On the real estate market there is a 6 room house near Marion for $3200, and a 25-acre farm with a house, barn, double garage and electricity available for $2200.

August 30, 1939: On Thursday, the High School Band will play at the State Fair in Syracuse and there will be no school. The band is scheduled to play at 11 o'clock, daylight saving time.
