A man told me his mother, at the age of 98 years, never uses glasses. She just drinks right out of the bottle. Dec. 20, 1913 - C.R. Sweezey has been laying pipe from his well near his residence to his recently built house on the hill for hogs. He employed some of the contractor Lewis celebrated diggers, who are nearly through with the laying of pipes for the water works. Christmas is weird. What other time of year do you sit in front of a dead tree and eat candy out of your socks? (Maxine) Dec. 18, 1941 - At school the grade rooms are beginning to look very much like Christmas with each art class doing a different type of decoration. The intermediate grades have been making Christmas favors and fixing Christmas cards to be sent to veterans hospitals, as part of their junior Red Cross service. Dec. 10, 2008 - Marion High School band and chorus 7 p.m. in the Marion Junior-Senior high school auditorium. Marion Commuity Christmas will be collecting donations at this concert.
