Rotary clubs celebrate 10th annual Spelling Bee

Wayne County Rotary clubs will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of their Annual Spelling Bee.

They are actively seeking organizations and individuals to sponsor a team or organize their own team for competition in this event. Beginning this year youth teams will also compete for a trophy. All high schools in the county are encouraged to enter a team. This years bee is to be held on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bon Ton Court at Eastview Mall in Victor.

This fund-raiser benefits Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County. Last years event netted over $5,200 to further the efforts of Literacy Volunteers to overcome the problem of adult illiteracy within Wayne County and to help foreigners learn the English language.

For further information, or to obtain registration forms and rules, contact Rotarians Gary Reilly at 331-7741, Ext. 328 or Bill Dean 597-2242, or Literacy Volunteers at 946-5333.
