Call for artwork

NEWARK: Wayne County Council for the Arts will be hosting an exhibit honoring those currently serving in the military and veterans. Wayne Arts is seeking works in oil, watercolor, figure drawing, textile art, sculpture, photography, paper and more.

All artists are welcome to submit their work, but the subject of the work must reflect or be influenced by the military and/or times of conflict. Artists need to submit their work Saturday, Oct. 31. The exhibit is scheduled to be on display November 2009. For more information, call Wayne Arts at 331-4593. Introduction to Basic Forging Techniques Classes

An introduction to the Art of Blacksmithing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evenings beginning January at 3163 Lake Road in Williamson. Cost for this six week course is $100.
