Food sought for
Christmas Basket Program

The Wayne County Council is asking businesses to help area needy families by contributing food items to its Christmas Dinner Basket Program.

Anyone interested in contributing an item may sign up for an item and donate it before Wednesday, Dec. 17.

Items include: a $25 grocery store gift card, box of mashed potato mix, stuffing mix, gravy, applesauce, canned vegetables, canned fruit, juice boxes, bread or muffin mix, dessert mix and candy for children. Story books, coloring books and small toys are also encouraged for the children. Items needed are two per basket.

On Friday, Dec. 21, Shannon Brenblinger from the Wayne County Social Services Department will pick up and distribute the baskets. For more information, call 946-4881.
