Newark author writes novels;
has contract w
ith Tiger Publications

Kathleen Calarco of Newark has announced the upcoming release of two of her novels, Letter For Patrick and Miranda Crossing (Tiger Publications), set for release next winter and mid-2009.

A Geneva native, she later moved to Newark, her parents, Jim and Agnes Stoops. She went to Newark, High School, graduating in 1972, then moving to Rochester.

Twenty years later she returned to Newark where she met her husband, Attorney Michael Calarco. She is the mother of Kadi Sullivan, 22, of Rochester.

Calarco has spun stories for as long as she can remember. It wasn't until she self-retired in 2002 from the position of legal assistant that she sat down and wrote her first novel. She has since completed three, which she calls 'love stories with a twist.'

With three manuscripts under her belt, she pursued publication, taking on the task of submitting to agents and entering writing contests.

She said, 'Proving the power of attraction, I've suddenly found myself published; dreaming is step one in achieving it.'

Last fall she submitted manuscripts has to Tiger Publications, located in Chicago. Within two weeks she was offered a contract.

She also attends college and is pursuing a degree in Liberal Arts. She participates in Newark Public Library's 'Beyond the Covers' monthly book club.
