Balloons bring Valentine
cheer to Nursing Home
On Valentine's Day, volunteers delivered 265 red Mylar Heart-shaped balloons to the 192 residents of the Wayne County Nursing Home. On each of the balloons there was a hand- written personalized message to the resident. It was indeed a special Valentine's Day.
Each resident also received a card. The Valentines cards were donated by the Macedon American Legion Auxiliary, Finger Lakes DDSO, Tymeson Room and caring Friends. Students from Clyde-Savannah Interact Club and Student Council visited the residents on Wednesday and brought Valentine cards for each resident.
Balloons were ordered by family members. For residents not receiving a balloon order, support was received from the Palmyra-Macedon Rotary Club, the Lyons American Legion Post, the Clyde-Savannah Interact Club and Student Council, the Palmyra American Legion Post, the Kiwanis Club of Newark, Clyde American Legion Post, staff members and families who donated for other residents.
The Valentine Balloon Project is a fundraiser for the Wayne County Nursing Home Foundation.
