For the first time in school history, a basketball team from Marion is ranked number one in New York State for Class C schools.

The Lady Knights basketball team heads into the post season for the second year in a row, with a record of 20 and 0. The Lady Knights have a regular season 43 game winning streak that started in the 2005-2006 season.

The team has been given the number one seed for the Class CCC Section V tournament.

Coach Tom Nortier was named the Coach of the Year for Class CCC. He received this recognition, for the second straight year, from his peers.

The undefeated Marion Lady Knights will play Bishop Kearney at Marion on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m.
