Blue and Gold Banquet for Pack 138 Cub Scout Pack 138 Blue and Gold Banquet was held at the Lyons VFW. Twenty-one of 30 scouts attended the ceremony. Scott Blondell (Wolf Leader) read about the great Akela (Akela is a good leader). Scott DeRue, Cub Master, was master of ceremonies for the evening. DeRue addressed his Tiger scouts and presented them with their colors. With their faces painted with the color of orange, Erick Columna, Chet DeWolf and Carson Jordan were officially presented their Tiger badges. Bear Leader Scott Blondell gave Wolf Scouts Connor Bell, Forrest Blondell and Robert Johnson their colors of red and their wolf badges. Bear Scout Leader Jennifer DeRue gave Bear badges to Ryan Blair, Adrian Clark, Adam DeRue and Zechariah Nower and put yellow paint on their faces. Sharon O'Campo, First Year Webelos leader, presented badges and face painted blue - John Finch, Niko Gosuch, Noah Goulette, Hunter O'Campo, Andrew and Alex Schuyler. The Arrow of Light was presented with great honor to all Second Year Webelos, led by Dave Wilck. The scouts are Zachary Barnes, Nathan Barnes, B.J. Blair, Tyler Michaels and Josh Wilck. An Arrow of Light pin is presented to each boy and they are asked to present that pin to their Akela (usually a parent), who helped them achieve this award. In return their Akela is given the Arrow of Light patch to proudly present to their scout. Congratulations were given to the boys and their families by John Side, Pack Commissioner. A token of appreciation was given to Dave Wilck, outgoing leader who is moving up to Boy Scouts with his son Josh. On March 1, Mike Barnard Chevrolet in Newark will host the Pack's Pinewood derby. The public is welcome to attend. Wednesday, February 27, there will be a Crossover Ceremony held at Park Presbyterian Church, Newark at 7 p.m. for the Second Year Webelos who are moving up to Boy Scouts. Copyright
