Lady Reds still after the Sectional crown

Newark Lady Reds (#3) basketball team is set to play #2 Honeoye Falls Lima on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m., at Victor High School.

The Lady Reds advanced to the semifinals in Class A with a 75-33 win over the Victor Blue Devils on Feb. 21 at home. Newark was led by junior Alyssa Fenyn, who scored 31, while Marissa Bunce scored 19, 15 from the three point line.

Coach Diane Kirnie said all the players did well, especially Heather Virts - 10 points, Sarah Tanea, and Kira Lauer. The team is without Shakista Woolfolk, who injured her knee two weeks ago.
