Long-term care insurance Department of Aging and Youth will talk about long-term care insurance counseling starting next Tuesday. Sessions will be held at 1519 Nye Road, Lyons. They are January 15, February 19, and March 6 at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. on each of those dates. Seating is limited and registration is required. Please phone 946.5624. Employees are available to provide up-to-date, accurate, and unbiased information (in group and individual sessions) regarding the types of long-term care insurance policies available in New York. The cost of staying in a nursing home in New York can be over $90,000 a year. Home care can be very expensive, too, and few people can afford these costs without using all their life savings. Long-term care insurance allows you to protect your assets in the event you need long term care sometime in the future, just like you protect yourself with homeowners insurance and auto insurance. Call 946.5624, to sign up for an individual appointment or for a group informational session.
