Hoffman Foundation grant for museum

The Newark-Arcadia Historical Society recently received a grant for $500 from the Augustus & Jennie Hoffman Foundation.

The grant will be used for film preservation, as well as proper film transfer to DVD. The N-AHS has in its collection a number of early film reels depicting life in Newark, including rose parades (which show old downtown Newark). These historic films will be edited and transfred to DVD, to be shown as future programs.

The N-AHS is interested in adding more films (16mm & 8mm) dealing with Newark people, places and events. Please call the museum at 331.6409.
