Troubadour Harper in concert Sunday 'Portrait of Ireland,' a Celtic music concert, will be presented on Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. at Zion Episcopal Church (Palmyra) with guest artist Thom Dutton. A Palmyra native who has lived on Cape Cod for more than 20 years, Dutton took up the harp in 1987 and has since logged in over 1000 performances in churches, coffeehouses and concert halls throughout New England and New York. He has also performed in Wales and England as well in the pubs of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Celtic harp has taken this classically trained singer deep into the realm of traditional Celtic folk music. Most of the music he plays is of inexact ancient origin. This year's concert will feature music whose lyrics paint a portrait of the Irish landscape and life in the country. Dutton is a recording artist and a certified Music Practitioner. In 1996, he created Cape Side Music, through which he publishes his harp arrangements. Dutton's recordings and books will be available at the concert. A suggested donation of $5 will be accepted at the door. Zion Episcopal Church is located at 120 East Main Street. For information call 597.4941.
