County Historical Society The Museum of Wayne County History announced that the C.H. Stuart Foundation has granted the museum $750 in memory of James M. Beale, who was the Chair of the C.H. Stuart Foundation for many years. The museum will use the money for signs in the Carriage Barn. Two signs will be made, one will be for the outside of the Carriage Barn and the other will be for the Barns Erie Canal exhibit. Peter Miller, owner of Clemen Quality Signage, will be creating the new signage for the Museum Barn. The museum hopes to renovate all signage in the barn. Executive Director of the Museum, Larry Ann Evans, said, 'We hope to move some things, like one of the carriages, to the Pure Oil Station for exhibition. Then the new wall size signage will also divide up the various exhibits and make the information more comprehensive.' The signs will be completed this summer and will be installed during the museums basement and barn renovation at the end of July. The museum is in Lyons, at 21 Butternut Street. The C.H. Stuart Foundation is a longtime supporter of the Museum of Wayne County History, whose mission is to encourage an appreciation of the history of Wayne County through the collection, preservation and exhibition of artifacts.
