Song-writing workshop series starts Tuesday

The Lyons Public Library will be Song Writing Workshop Series during July. The workshops will be led by Nancy and John Bryan of Clyde.

They take place July 15 and 17, July 22 and 24, July 29 and July 31, from 2:30 to 4 daily.

Nancy has written for Disney in addition to releasing two albums. The series will last three weeks with two sessions a week for children ages 10 and older. Children will learn how to write songs and how to set them to music.

At the end of the workshops, there will be several practice sessions with the children and the Bryans, to prepare for a mini-concert the day of the awards ceremony for the summer reading club. The concert is set for Sat., August 16 at 11 a.m. The dates for the practice sessions have not been set yet. These workshops are free but registration is required and limited to 20 children, ages 10 and older.
